The Portable TFI, or Through fault indicator, is an instrument for indicating the passage of fault current in overhead 11KV and 33KV power lines.
With an IP rating of IP67, the TFI-BFZ ensures a high weatherproofing during prolonged use.
Sealed switches without rubber over-boots, gives the TFI-BFZ high durability when exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods.

The TFI-BFZ comprises of a grey ABS case with a clear window for viewing the fault indicator flag. An elastic strap captured in two side mounting holes is used to hold the instrument in position on an overhead line pole.

Alternatively a mounting bracket can be provided at a small additional charge. The micro-chip controlled electronics is powered by a Lithium Ion Battery with a service free life of up to 10 years, dependant on usage. A bright red flip flop Flag Indicator behind the clear window gives a positive visual indication of the passage of fault current in the overhead line conductors.

Two weatherproof external switches on the front of the instrument provide an ON/OFF battery test control and a dual sensitivity option.
